Corwin Foundation Hosts Army Tailgate

On Saturday, September 3rd in DeKalb Illinois, the Corwin Foundation hosted a pre-game tailgate and tickets to the Army-Northern Illinois football game for 100 guests. Included as guests were several wounded warriors from the Chicago area, scholarship recipients of the Captain Scott Corwin Award at Hinsdale South High School and their families, Alex Bitto from the staff at Hinsdale South, representatives from the Wounded Warrior Project and the Corwin family. Despite some inclimate weather and an Army loss, we hope everyone who attended enjoyed themselves.

The Captain Scott Corwin Foundation was honored to treat our guests to a day of Army football. As a added tribute, Allison Corwin and Jamie Gronko (sisters of Captain Scott Corwin) were on the field for the coin toss as the public address announcer spoke of Scott and the Foundation.

The Corwin Foundation would like to send a warm thank you to Ryan Harris of Northern Illinois University for all of his help with the event. We'd also like to thank the folks at Whitman's Catering in DeKalb, especially Bruce and Debbie, for the outstanding food and service (best brats in town!). A big thanks also goes to Suzanne Seloover and her staff at the Wounded Warrior Project of Chicago, and Carol Bush with the Army Athletic Office for their wonderful support. These folks were instrumental in helping us plan this event, and we couldn't have done it without them. We'd also like to thank Mike Staniec, and Peter and Colleen Sheehan for their help setting up the event on Saturday prior to the tailgate.
